When I was 12, a teacher asked me to tell a story in front of the whole class, and I said yes. When I was 20, I got offered a job that involved speaking in front of sullen teenagers, and I said yes. Throughout the years that followed, I said yes to every chance to tell my stories in front of an audience, and even became a National Champion of public speaking. But when friends suggested I should do it professionally, I always said “maybe one day.”
When a series of unexpected events turned my life upside down, a good friend asked me that same question again and, this time, I finally said yes. I’m very glad I did.
